“Enamorado’s attorney, Nicholas Rosenberg, accused the security guard, referred to in court documents as John Doe #1, of being a liar and the aggressor, saying the guard had attacked the street vendors. Rosenberg said that all of the alleged victims in the case “did not have clean hands” and had actively provoked the named defendants.”
“People are very shocked,” said Valdez’s attorney, Nicholas Rosenberg. “He was a very popular guy, very mild-mannered. People loved him.” The rapper had been attacked in prison before Tuesday’s incident, according to Rosenberg. Around midnight on Tuesday, officials called Rosenberg with word of his death. “They said it was a stabbing to the neck,” Rosenberg said. “They said they’re investigating.”
Cervantes’ lawyer, Nicholas Rosenberg, told The Times he considered the case an “exaggerated prosecution,” although he acknowledged his client was caught making statements on a wiretap. Cervantes works in the oil and gas industry and had “aged out” of gang life, his lawyer said. Referring to Huerta, Rosenberg said: “Any time they charge someone who’s already serving life, I have to ask, what’s the purpose? It doesn’t necessarily make sense, but hey — I’m not a prosecutor.”
“Nicholas Rosenberg, attorney for defendant Edin Alex Enamorado, addresses supporters after a judge in Victorville ruled on Feb. 9, 2024, that Enamorado and six other defendants must remain held without bail. ‘I refer to my client as a young Cesar Chavez,’ Rosenberg said recently.
Nicholas Rosenberg represents Enamorado and said outside court that to his knowledge…there was no court order prohibiting the defendants from speaking to each other. As a result, Rosenberg said authorities have placed Enamorado and Lujan in solitary confinement. “They’re both in the hole for something they did not know they were not supposed to do,” Rosenberg said. “So, let that sink in.”
